Introducing Chloe Nicolaus New AmeriCorps Member for Chippewa County 4-H

Chippewa County 4-H is thrilled to welcome Chloe Nicolaus as our new AmeriCorps member! Originally from Plymouth, WI, Chloe has been deeply involved in Sheboygan County 4-H, participating in community service projects, camps, and livestock shows. As an alumna and former Summer Intern in Sheboygan County, Chloe brings a wealth of experience to our team. She is currently majoring in Elementary Education at UW-Eau Claire.

Wisconsin 4-H recently received an AmeriCorps grant to help expand our programs across the state, including Chippewa County. With funding from Serve Wisconsin, AmeriCorps members like Chloe will be placed throughout Wisconsin to enhance our capacity. During the 2024-2025 term, these members will work with Wisconsin 4-H to build relationships with partners, identify opportunities for growth, and initiate new 4-H programming.

The goal of our AmeriCorps initiative is to increase the capacity of youth-serving organizations in Chippewa County by creating new 4-H clubs and programs. Chloe will collaborate directly with community partners to:

  1. Assess current offerings
  2. Identify opportunities to increase capacity
  3. Develop and provide new opportunities in counties across Wisconsin

We aim to offer additional educational opportunities to currently engaged youth, reach new participants, and involve new or existing volunteers in this mission. Through an asset-based approach, AmeriCorps members, guided by 4-H educators, will provide positive youth development opportunities.

This position is made possible by the Chippewa County 4-H Leaders Association. We are thrilled to have Chloe on board and look forward to the positive impact she will bring to our community!

Chloe’s year of service has just begun! If you see her at any of our programs, please give her a warm welcome!
