Chippewa County 4-H members recently had an amazing experience at the Wisconsin 4-H Arts Camp, an event designed for youth in grades 6-8. Held over the weekend, the camp offered a fantastic opportunity for young participants to dive into various forms of art, including theater, music, visual arts, dance, and photography. This immersive experience allowed campers to make new friends, develop their skills, and enjoy new adventures.
Purpose of Arts Camp:
- Encourage expression and participation in the arts among middle school-aged youth.
- Support youth teaching opportunities where they learn to incorporate education, creativity, and reflection into the creative process.
- Increase awareness of and participation in the arts at the club level.
Jordan Blue, Chippewa County 4-H Program Educator, expressed his enthusiasm about the camp: “Arts Camp serves as an incredible platform for older youth to share their sparks with campers from across the state. This year, Chippewa County was represented with a counselor and camper, where both of them engaged in the expressive arts and grew as leaders.”
The camp brought together over 140 campers, volunteers, and counselors to celebrate and engage in the arts. If you haven’t been a part of the Arts Camp experience, be sure to check back for more expressive arts programs.
