Camp Counselor Applications Are Now Open! Are you in 8th grade or above and ready to lead? We’re looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and dedicated individuals who love working with youth and want to help create an unforgettable camp experience.

Important Dates: 

All Counselors: 

• Counselor Application Deadline: December 1st, 2025
• Counselor Interviews: December 8th, 2025 at 4:30-8:30pm at the Chippewa County Courthouse. Please be prepared to discuss your experience, skills, and why you want to be a camp counselor. Questions will be sent on December 1st, 2024 to help with interview preparations.
• Parent/Guardian Orientation: January 5th, 2026 at 6:00pm. If selected, you will attend this orientation to learn about job expectations and how to maximize your experience as a counselor.
• Final Prep/Pack the Van: June 19th – Extension Office

• Base Camp Counselors: 
  • Counselor Leadership Training – IN PERSON: February 7th, 2026 at 9:00am-4:30pm
  • Camp Preparation Meeting – IN PERSON: March 9th or March 23rd, 2026 at 6:00pm. This training we will go over final lesson plans and start to order supplies.
  • Camp Schedule & Activities – IN PERSON:  April 6th, 2026 at 6:00pm – We will review the camp schedule, work on camp activities and run through final ordering. 
  • Counselor Camp at Kamp Kenwood: May 1st-May 2nd. 2026. During this training we will cover all of the required Wisconsin 4-H Camp Counselor Policies, Run through Campfire, Activities, etc. 
  • Summer Camp: June 22nd – June 25th, 2026

• Day Camp Counselors (8th Grade & 9th Grade): 
  • Camp Staff Team Building/Session Selection – IN PERSON: April 6th, 2026 at 6:30pm 
  • Camp Schedule & Activities – IN PERSON: May 2nd, 2026 
  • Summer Day Camp: June 22nd, 2026 

Reminder for Selected Camp Counselors: As a camp counselor, you are expected to uphold the Wisconsin 4-H Code of Conduct at all times and remain actively engaged in your role. This includes being a positive role model, demonstrating respect, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all campers and fellow counselors.

Additionally, it is your responsibility to communicate any schedule changes or conflicts directly with the 4-H staff as soon as possible. Keeping open lines of communication ensures a smooth and successful camp experience for everyone involved. If you cannot make a training, make up work will be expected and a meeting will be scheduled with the Program Educator to ensure you have the tools and resources to succeed.
