Snack Bar Frequently Asked Questions
Will it cost me to get into the fair to work at the Snack Bar?
No! By signing up to work a shift at the Snack Bar, you’ll receive free entry for that day into the Northern Wisconsin State Fair. You’ll need to be signed up to work prior to Saturday, July 5 and check in at the volunteer check-in at the East Entrance of the fair.

How does Chippewa County 4-H use the money raised from the Snack Bar? The 4-H Snack Bar represents the largest fundraiser for Chippewa Country 4-H Leaders Association. These funds drive our county-level programing and activities, including 4-H camp, Clover College, the Discover WI trip, and much more.

What if I’ve never volunteered at the Snack Bar before? We can’t wait to have you join us! No experience? No worries! After you sign up, we’ll provide you with all of the information you need leading up to the fair via email. In addition, when you come to work, you’ll be alongside other 4-H members and adults who can’t wait to show you the ropes.

What age do you need to be to volunteer? We ask that members working most Snack Bar roles be at least 12 years or older. Certain positions require members to be 15 years or older; read the position description on the sign-up for details. However, we want our younger members to be able to take part, so the Cloverbud Mini-Runners role helps by bringing sodas and milk to the counter for customers. This role is especially for our youngest members to make it even easier for the whole family to participate!

How many shifts can I work? As many as you want!  There is no limit to the shifts you can work throughout the fair. Plus, for each shift you work, you’ll get an additional entry to win a prize!
