4-H Cloverbud Club introduces youth in grades 5K-2 to 4-H through age-appropriate, hands-on activities, new friendships, and exploration of different project areas.

Welcome to 4-H Cloverbuds in Chippewa County!
The Chippewa County 4-H Cloverbud Club is open to youth in grades 5K-2. The program introduces the youngest members of 4-H to what the organization is all about through hands-on activities, friendships, and exploration of different project areas.
Cloverbud Club meetings are designed specifically for this age group, providing a fun, welcoming environment where youth can learn, create, and discover their interests.
What Does a Cloverbud Club Meeting Look Like?
Meeting Activities Include:
- 4-H Pledge
- Icebreaker or group game
- Monthly themed hands-on activities
- Opportunities to explore different 4-H project areas
- Time to connect with other Cloverbuds from around Chippewa County
Who Can Join the Cloverbud Club?
Youth in grades 5K-2 are eligible to participate.
Cloverbuds can participate in the Cloverbud Club only, or families may also choose to enroll their child in a traditional community 4-H club as well.
How to Join?
Youth may join the Cloverbud Club anytime October through August.
- Annual cost: $5 (unless a member of a community club)
- Cost remains the same no matter when a youth joins during the year.
- Families can register through the Chippewa County 4-H enrollment process.

Who Leads the Cloverbud Club? Can I Volunteer?
The Cloverbud Club is led by a caring adult volunteer who serves as a main contact for families. They help plan meetings, communicate information, and create positive learning experiences for youth.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Helping with hands-on activities
- Supporting meeting activities
- Assisting with planning
- Encouraging youth exploration and learning

Opportunities for Cloverbuds in Chippewa County
Cloverbuds do not enroll in project areas in the same way older 4-H members do. Instead, they have opportunities to sample and explore many different project areas throughout their Cloverbud experience.
Examples may include:
- Arts and crafts
- STEM and robotics
- Animals
- Nature and outdoors
- Food and nutrition
- Sewing and textiles
- Agriculture
- Creative expression
Countywide opportunities may include:
- Project Discovery Day
- Speaking & Demonstration Contest
- Performing Arts Festival
- Clover College
- Food & Clothing Revue
- Summer Day Camps
- Stuffed Animal Show
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to join a traditional Community 4-H Club?
No. Youth can participate in only Cloverbud Club or join both Cloverbud Club and a community 4-H club. Families can choose what works best for them.
Can I stay at the meeting with my child?
Yes. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay, observe, and help with hands-on activities. Some meetings may need additional adult support.
Can you join throughout the year?
Yes. Youth can join anytime from October through August. The cost stays at $5 regardless of when they join.
Is there an attendance policy?
No. We understand families have busy schedules. If you miss a meeting, that is okay. Families will receive advance communication if supplies are available to complete activities at home.
