4-H Club & Project Leader Resource Page

Welcome Club and Project Leaders! This is a resource page to help guide you through your experience as a club or project leader. The Club Leader role is often seen as the person or people responsible for the entire 4-H club. While it can be a big job, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. This role can be filled by one person or shared among many.

Project leaders can serve in various capacities—at the club, county, and sometimes regional or state levels. They may work with a committee and have substantial support, or they might work independently to organize project experiences for youth. Regardless of how you lead a project, you are never truly alone.

For more information about the volunteer roles available for club leadership or project leaders, visit the Wisconsin 4-H Club Leader Resource Page.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Project leaders may serve in a lot of ways—at a club, county, and sometimes regional or state level. They may work with a committee and have a great deal of support, while other project leaders may work alone to organize project experiences for youth. In whatever way you may lead a project, you are not truly alone. Complete our 4-H Project Leader Interest Form, and a member of our team will follow up with you shortly.
  • Volunteers are at the heart of the 4-H program, and we’re grateful for the many ways they contribute. One great way to get involved is by joining one of our committees. These groups typically meet in November, January, March, May, and July—or as determined by the committee—and vary in time commitment. Each committee plays a vital role in helping us deliver high-quality opportunities for 4-H members and participants.
