4-H Community Scholarships

Chippewa County 4-H provides opportunities for members to be recognized for their accomplishments and dedication to the program by offering several scholarship opportunities.  Each scholarship opportunity noted below has uniquely specific criteria.  Please take time to review the criteria and if you fit within those guidelines, you are encouraged to apply.

4-H Forestry Committee Scholarship – May 1st

The Chippewa County 4-H Forestry Committee offers a one-time $400 scholarship to graduating 4-H members. Scholarships will be available during the 2nd semester of the 1st year of postsecondary education. Proof of enrollment in any short-course or second semester is necessary during their second semester. Applicants can earn the scholarship one (1) time.

The 4-H Forest Committee has the final say on all applications. Return applications by May 1st to, 4-H Forest Committee, c/o Chippewa County Extension Office, Courthouse, Room 13, 711 North Bridge Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Scholarships – March 1st

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation will award more than $20,000 in scholarships to outstanding Wisconsin 4-H members and alumni pursuing higher education in 2024.  To be considered for financial support, applications will be accepted starting December 15, 2023, and must be received by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation via email by Friday, March 1, 2024, 5:00 pm.

4-H Shooting Sports Scholarship

Given in memory of those 4-H youth who were involved in a Shooting Sports discipline and are no longer with us.  The applicant must be enrolled in a Chippewa County 4-H club during their senior year to be eligible to apply.  The applicant must be registered in a shooting sports discipline during their senior year to be eligible to apply.  The applicant’s name must appear on all required pages of the application.  The application form must be filled out completely and include required attachments to be reviewed for consideration.  The $250 is non-renewable.

Application must be submitted in typed form.  Completed application, including all required attachments, must be postmarked by May 1st  and returned to: Chippewa County University Extension Courthouse, Room 13, 711 North Bridge Street Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 Attention: 4-H Shooting Sports Scholarship Committee.  Scholarship winner(s) will be announced at the awards ceremony held during the Northern Wisconsin State Fair.  Scholarships will be disbursed during Second Semester of Freshman Year after the committee receives a copy of first semester grades as well as verification of second semester registration.

Community Scholarship

Karin Anne Seckora Memorial Scholarship – April 15th

Karin’s scholarship is open to any student who will be graduating from the Chippewa County 4-H Program this summer and will be attending a technical schools, college, or university in the fall of this year. All areas of study will be considered for review. A minimal grade point average of 2.25 is required to apply fo the $300 scholarship.

Applicants should be adventuresome, ambitious, loyal and fun loving. Applicants are also preferred to have a willingness to reach out to others in need, respect all forms of life, and show an avid interest in animals, plants, arts, crafts, music, and dance. Please contact Jordan at jordan.blue@wisc.edu for a copy of the scholarship materials.
