Become a Volunteer
Make a difference in the lives of young people by becoming a 4-H volunteer. Share your skills, interests, and experiences while helping youth develop leadership, confidence, and life skills through hands-on learning opportunities. Whether you lead a club, assist with events, mentor youth, or support programs behind the scenes, there is a volunteer role for everyone. Join our dedicated team of volunteers and help create positive experiences that empower the next generation. In order to be eligible to be a volunteer, adults need to enroll on 4-HOnline, complete volunteer trainings, and meet with Jordan.
Steps to Volunteer
Complete the Volunteer Interest Form
The Volunteer Interest Form helps us learn more about your skills, interests, and volunteer goals. Your responses will help us connect you with meaningful 4-H opportunities that match your experience, availability, and passions.
Connect with our 4-H Educator
This meeting can take place in person or via Zoom. We’ll get to know one another, learn more about your volunteer interests, and discuss how your skills and passions can make a positive impact through the 4-H program.
Enroll in 4-HOnline
Ready to make a difference? New 4-H volunteers can get started by enrolling through 4-HOnline. The 4-H program year begins each year on September 1, making it a great time to join our team of dedicated volunteers and help inspire the next generation of leaders.
Pass the Background Check
After enrolling, you will receive an email from HireRight within a few days with instructions for completing your required background check. Please respond to the email within 5 days of receiving it. Be sure to check your spam or junk mail folder so you don’t miss this important message.

Volunteer trainings are available online through the Wisconsin 4-H website.
